The Strategic Administrative Initiatives – Projects Office at Central European University (CEU) invites applications for a Data Analyst role in Budapest.  

Role description:

  • Engage with Unit Heads and take a leading role in creating models and implementing core institutional reports and analytics to support operational decisions.
  • Build data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to the university’s senior leadership executives and unit heads.
  • Pull data from different sources with the help of data owners (SAP, student, and employee databases, excel, other) for analyzing and reporting dashboards, data trends, in an easily interpreted visualization.
  • Identify and specify needs for data, making sure data and calculations are consistent with other reports, technologically feasible, and financially and functionally reasonable.
  • Creating a detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities, and solutions for a business.
  • Collect relevant information and provide status reports towards management on all on-going projects.
  • Prepare cost-benefit analysis, project cost forecasts and follow-up reports.

 

Required skills and competencies:

  • College/University degree
  • Fluent in English and Hungarian – both spoken and written.
  • MS Office (word, excel, PowerPoint) – expert level on Excel, advanced level on Word and Power Point
  • Data architect experience – proven expertise in identifying and managing data structures, needs and ability to plan reports to fit the user requirements.
  • Experience with Salesforce, SAP, Nexon or any kind of integrated HR System, CRM, or ERP.
  • Experience in financial and cost-benefit analyses combined with understanding of key performance indicators.
  • Ability to identify issues and plan out solutions, improvements where it is possible.
  • Strong desire both for process improvements, projects, and daily operational tasks
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving
  • Detail-orientation and high-level of accuracy
  • Good organizational and extensive communication skills
  • Understanding of networks, databases, and other data transmission and processing technologies
