The Budget and Finance Office at Central European University (CEU), Vienna invites applications for a full-time Financial Controller.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the controlling, budgeting, and reporting of Academic Departments and Research Centers.

This role will be based at the University’s Vienna Campus.

 

Your duties and responsibilities:

  • Participate in all controlling related tasks of Departments and research centers
    • Budget planning and forecasting  
    • Reporting on actual (YTD, YTE) figures
    • Monthly monitoring and analyzing the budget vs actual figures
    • Supporting the units with analyses
  • Keep daily contact with the financial coordinators of Departments, Centers, as well as other administrative units (e.g., HRO)
  • Regular and Ad hoc financial reporting to support institutional decision-making process
  • Maintenance of certain master data in SAP ERP and BW
  • Make necessary modifications in accounting (re-booking)
  • Support the accounting in preparation of the annual financial reports
  • Support the strategy planning processes with financial modeling, calculations and KPI analyses
  • Take part in preparation of statistical reports
  • Take part in projects and developments within the institution
  • Risk analyzing in different reports (e.g., in reports for Board, Strategy planning, etc.)

 

Your qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance or Accounting
  • 5+ years’ experience in controlling
  • Comfortable speaking in English
  • Proficient in SAP ERP, BW and/or any other database, Power BI, and Microsoft Office. Strong database and/or data warehouse management skill
  • Advanced level excel usage (incl. using formulas, charts, formatting, macros, etc.)
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and accurate
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team player attitude
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt changes

We offer a competitive salary starting from gross 53 000 EUR/year. A higher salary is possible if warranted by the candidate’s working experience.
