Overall objectives of the Job


The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations Human Resources.


The Self-motivated and experienced HR Assistant candidate will act as the liaison between HR and employees, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions. Dealing with employee’s requests regarding HR issues, rules, and regulations.


To be able to act in this role, the jobholder will be working closely with his/her direct supervisor in Vienna. In order to be able to fulfill his/her job, (s)he has to know the roles and scope of activities of the support teams in Vienna and a high-level understanding of HRO team members’ tasks both in Vienna and Budapest.


Assists his/her direct supervisor in delivering HR services and support.




  • An entry level position with 2 years of experience in HR, payroll or HR related areas
  • Has no budget responsibilities
  • His/her task is information sharing and answering questions on phone, or electronically, as discussed with his/her direct supervisor
  • Needs an agile person with high level customer service skills and mindset
  • Has no subordinates


Main Accountabilities

Employee communication:


  • Answers CEU employee questions and manages requests on phone, and other electronical ways according to the instructions of his/her direct supervisor
  • Ensures a positive employee experience due to his/her professional, diplomatic communication style
  • Answers any employee requests within 24 hours
  • Has to collect typical employee questions for his/her direct supervisor to assist HRO in reducing the number of employee questions by adjusted communication
  • Maintains a knowledge base by continuously updating employee FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) per topics, guides and handbooks under supervision.


HR support:

  • Supports his/her direct supervisor and the HR team in Vienna in all HR administration and tasks as requested
  • Support the HRO Payroll team with statistics, collecting data and information from employees for different purposes and/or databases




  • University degree
  • 1-3 years of experience in HR, preferably in payroll
  • or other HR related areas
  • German and English language proficiency




  • Appropriate communication style both in English and German (professional, polite, diplomatic, clear and patient)
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work under stress, and manage own time


Main internal shareholders:

  • CEU employees working mainly in Vienna
  • HRO Vienna and Budapest
  • CEU support teams other than HRO
