Central European University (CEU) invites applications for an HR Coordinator position in Vienna. The focus of the position is to be the first point of contact for CEU employees on any HR-related topic and to either answer questions directly or forward inquiries to a director for additional support.

Your responsibilities:

  • Answering HR-related questions of CEU employees and managing phone/online requests within a 24-hour window.
  • Ensuring a positive employee experience due to your professional and diplomatic communication style
  • Maintaining a knowledge base by continuously updating employee FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) per topics, guides, and handbooks, under supervision.
  • Supporting your direct supervisor and the HRO team in Vienna in all HR administrative tasks as requested.
  • Find ways to build morale, improve relationships, and boost productivity and retention
  • Initiate and organize employee events in consultation and agreement with HRO Director and COO.
  • Consult with Executives and coordinate HR efforts between Departments
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the human resources department to develop proposals for policies and solutions
  • Proactively supports the delivery of HR Processes
  • Participates in HR Projects


Required skills and competencies:

  • University degree
  • 1-3 years of experience in HR, preferably in payroll
  • Appropriate communication style and proficiency in English and German, while demonstrating professionalism, a diplomatic style of communication, and patience.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure with strong time and stress management skills.
  • Ability to multitasking


Alongside benefits, we offer a competitive annual gross salary starting at 36,000 EUR (paid in 14 installments) which may be higher, depending on your experience and competences
