Internship in International Higher Education Administration: Visa and Residence-related matters at the CEU Vienna Campus

The CEU Vienna Campus is looking for an intern to assist in urgent individual cases of immigration and settlement issues.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Assisting the HRO and the Vienna Campus Directorate on the following matters:

  • Research regarding Austrian residency and work permit matters
  • Providing assistance for employees moving to Vienna in all matters relating to residency and work permits
  • Personal support and guidance on who to further contact in other aspects that may arise when moving to Vienna
  • General questions regarding finding accommodation, schooling and all other matters of life in Vienna and Austria
  • Providing assistance in filling out German-language forms and annexes for employees.
  • Supporting the submission of R-W-R card applications in Vienna.  
  • Helping with CEU PU stamps on official documents
  • Works in small, problem-solving-oriented and highly experienced team in Vienna under the matrixed-supervision of the Vienna Campus Director and the HRO
  • Works closely with the Vienna Senior Settlement Expert and Executive Assistant of the Campus Director.

 

Qualifications

  • Fluency in German: Native speaker level is a must
  • Excellent communication skills in English and German
  • Experience in communicating and liasing with Austrian and Viennese public administration and other sectors pertaining to settlement in the country/city is required.
  • Ready to do some legwork (Behördengänge)
  • Client oriented, supportive, polite, warm, welcoming, friendly
  • Manages to support people in situations of individual urgency.
  • Permission to work in Austria

It's a part time position (30 hours/week) for a fixed term (2 months).
