One-term Visiting Professor in Women’s and Gender History

The Department of Gender Studies at Central European University (CEU) seeks to hire a full-time Short-term Visiting Professor with expertise in Historical Gender Studies a/o Women’s and Gender History.

Job description:
The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to teach 6 credits (one 2-credit and one 4-credit course) at the MA and PhD level in their area of expertise, with the possibility of MA research supervision. The 6 credits can be taught over the course of one term (fall or winter) or spread out over both terms if desired. These will be onsite classes. Teaching terms at CEU last 12 weeks (September-December and January-March). We seek a candidate with demonstrated teaching experience in an English-language academic environment (preferably at the graduate level).
Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be teaching our 2-credit course “Women’s and Gender History: An Introduction into Theory, Methods, and Archives,” which has a post-colonial emphasis; and a 4-credit course in the field of (post)socialism studies.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have been awarded a Ph.D. by August 31, 2022.

Compensation

We offer a gross remuneration of 21.000 EUR as well as a dynamic and international academic environment.
