The Human Resources Office (HRO) at Central European University invites applications for a Payroll Coordinator position. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated with excellent organizational skills and hold a relevant qualification.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Processing full-scale Hungarian payroll, including absences, benefit calculations, collecting and processing the confirmation of fulfillment
  • Managing and controlling ongoing maintenance of payroll system (NEXON) and payroll records
  • Managing, supporting, controlling, and completing monthly and annual payroll duties
  • Dealing with payroll deductions including tax, pension and social security contributions and preparing all statutory monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Managing, supporting, controlling of maintaining an efficient, accurate and up-to-date filing system, including archiving of records as appropriate and in accordance with CEU’s policies
  • Liaising with all levels of employees (staff and supervisors) and freelancers on payroll related queries
  • Liaising with authorities and partners (NAV, NEAK, Pension Funds, etc.)
  • Ensuring preparation of proper Labor statistics
  • Managing, supporting, controlling of issuing employer and other certificates
  • Managing changes in our payroll records (NEXON) in a timely manner (salary, job, cost center, change of hours, etc.)
  • Handling and answering e-mails through a ticketing system (Zendesk)
  • Continuing development of professional knowledge and sharing it with the payroll team
  • Searching technical solutions in the interest of increasing efficiency

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated (at least two years) and also recent and relevant payroll processing experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Hungarian Payroll legislation
  • Good knowledge of the English language (verbal & written)
  • Experience with NexonBér and/or NexonTime
  • High-level of accuracy and strong organizational and record keeping skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Ability to work under own initiative and not requiring day-to-day supervision,
  • Ability to carry out manual calculations
  • Highly motivated with excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Attention to detail

Advantage:

Compensation
We offer a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience as well as a dynamic and international academic environment. The initial contract is for one year with the possibility of renewal.
