Postdoctoral Fellow - Dynasnet project

Starting date: Earliest January 01, 2022
Application deadline: Review of the applications starts on November 30, 2021 and continues until the position is filled.

The Department of Network and Data Science at Central European University invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position under the supervision of Profs. Laszlo Barabasi and Marton Posfai to participate in the DYNASNET project, which is a Synergy Grant, funded by the European Research Council (GA number 810115). Conversation between the research communities of network science and graph theory, despite their shared object of study, has been limited. Led by leaders from both disciplines (Laszlo Barabasi, Laszlo Lovasz and Jaroslav Nesetril), the DYNASNET project aims to bridge this gap and cross-pollinate both fields.

The successful applicant will join research on physical networks (for background, see papers here and here), or other DYNASNET focus areas, such as the dynamics and control of networks or the applications of graph limits.
The position starts in January 2022 and research is based at CEU’s Budapest campus, but we maintain a close collaboration with the CEU Department of Network and Data Science in Vienna.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical and programming skills, a PhD in physics, mathematics, network science, or a related field, and has work experience in network science or complex systems research.

We offer a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience as well as a dynamic and international academic environment. The initial contract is for one year and may be extended by two additional years.
