Central European University (CEU) intends to develop its master’s program in Cultural Heritage Studies as a professional degree training for executives working on heritage-related projects, programs, and in organizations.
CEU is seeking to appoint a professional Program Manager who will play a key role in the design, preparation, and launch of the program.
The Program Manager will report to the Director of the Cultural Heritage Studies Program (CHSP) and will cooperate closely with the Director and staff of the Executive Education (ExEd) Hub at CEU.

The Program Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Contribute to and coordinate the development of the new program proposal in collaboration with the Director of CHSP and other faculty members.
  • Coordinate the necessary preparatory actions for the timely launch of the program.
  • Coordinate communication and contacts with internal stakeholders and with the ExEd Hub at CEU in order to successfully prepare, launch, and manage the program.
  • Coordinate communication and contacts with relevant national and international heritage organizations, educational institutions, and external stakeholders in order to promote effective communication to successfully prepare, launch, and manage the program.
  • Conduct educational market research regarding the current landscape in cultural heritage leadership and cultural heritage management. The result of this market research will support the design and delivery of the program. The research should include a review and analysis of existing and potential competitors, industry trends, target groups of prospective students, potential future employers for graduates, potential market gaps, and the most effective positioning strategies for this new program.
  • Contribute to the identification of potential financing sources for the program. Develop networks and carry out negotiations for contracting external funding agencies and individuals.
  • Play an active role in formulating strategies to implement the executive program, including organizing conferences and expert meetings.
  • Monitor events and trends in the field of cultural heritage studies and inform CHSP and ExEd Hub staff, who are working on the new professional program, to help in the decision making process

Qualifications:

  • MA or equivalent degree in the field of cultural heritage, social sciences, or humanities. PhD or equivalent degree is an advantage.
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience at organizations of projects related to cultural heritage or close disciplines.
  • Experience in teaching advanced academic or executive degree courses on cultural heritage studies will be a plus.
  • Experience in contributing to the strategic planning and development of post-graduate, preferably executive, educational programs.
  • Experience in working in international research and educational projects and teaching in a multicultural environment.
  • Experience in the elaboration and management of programs or projects in the field of cultural heritage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, knowledge of other languages is an advantage.

  • Qualitative and quantitative research skills, data analytics, writing academic reports or policy documents.
  • Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills.
  • Close attention to detail and quality of work, balanced by the ability to manage a heavy workload and competing pressures.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relations within a multicultural environment and to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Effective networking with strong social and influencing skills, ability to deal with a range of stakeholders.

Compensation
We offer a competitive gross annual salary of 50,000 EUR, commensurate with experience as well as a dynamic and international academic environment. The initial contract is for one year with the possibility of renewal subject to availability of funds and satisfactory performance.
