Central European University (CEU) seeking a full-time Program Manager for its one-year professional business master’s programs. The programs currently include the Master of Science in Business Analytics and the Master of Science in Finance. They are highly international, intense US style professional programs designed to kick-start the career of up to 120 young professionals yearly in the fields of Finance and Business Analytics.

Reporting directly to the Faculty Director of the Business Master's programs, the Program Manager will be responsible for leading and executing non-academic activities and corporate outreach for the programs, including the recruitment and the placement of students. This is a strategic opportunity for an experienced professional who is highly knowledgeable about the Vienna and/or Budapest business community and who has or is willing to build a valuable professional network with employers both in Austria and Hungary (but also internationally) that can serve multiple strategic objectives of the programs. 

The position is Vienna-based with an Austrian employment contract, but it involves extensive travel between the two locations and to other strategic recruitment and placement locations in Europe.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Working with the academic program directors of the Business Master programs and relevant units of the University, the candidate will develop and manage a series of strategic partnerships and outreach activities with corporate, NGO and other organizations in Vienna, Budapest and across Europe to achieve a number of objectives including program promotion and sponsorship, student recruitment and learning/networking opportunities for Business master's program participants.
  • Managing the corporate contacts for recruitment, capstone projects, placement, scholarships.
  • Managing non-academic activities of modules for the Business Master's programs in Vienna and Budapest e.g. extra-curricular events such as guest speakers and alumni reunions. 
  • Representing the Program at events (fairs, conferences, corporate visits etc.) across Europe – this task requires extensive public speaking and leading negotiations skills. 
  • Coaching students on how to sharpen their profiles and aid them in their job search. 
  • Working with colleagues to provide aid in the process of accreditation and ranking of the programs. 

Qualifications:

The candidate must:

  • Have at least 5 years of relevant work experience with a proven track record of successful results in their field of expertise, preferably in business and higher education. There is also a strong preference for a candidate with previous experience of industry association, roles in public affairs, or program management at an internationally renowned graduate business school.
  • Be an excellent communicator in English and preferably also in German, with a record of successful public speaking and participation in high-level negotiations. Knowledge of other languages would be an asset although it is not required. Previous experience in event management as well as social media and digital marketing is an advantage.
  • Have experience with talent management, coaching and mentoring.
  • Be a graduate from a recognized university, preferably with experience of participation in studies involving an international component.
  • Be a self-motivated, results-oriented, energetic and highly organized team player.
  • Have an ability and interest in managing events related to the academic program e.g. alumni reunions.
  • Be a cultural fit for the program: we expect professionals with a global mindset and cultural sensitivity given the internationally diverse nature of the MS program participants and faculty.

Compensation:

  • A highly competitive salary is offered commensurate with the candidate’s experience and prevailing compensation in the market.  
  • The initial contract is for one year with a one-month trial period, with the expectation of renewal for an indefinite contract based on identifiable success.
