The Psychological Counselling at Central European University (CEU) invites applications for the position of part-time Psychological Counsellor. 

 

CEU Psychological Counselling 

CEU offers confidential psychological counseling services, providing professional help and support for personal, academic and work concerns. Our professional counselors provide individual and group counseling. Issues students typically turn to us with include (but are not limited to): lack of motivation or direction, concentration difficulties, low confidence or self-esteem, homesickness or loneliness, eating or body image issues, grief or bereavement, bullying, anxiety, stress, panic attacks, perfectionism, obsessions/compulsions, depression and other types of mood disorders, self-harm, addiction or substance use, relationship issues, traumatic experiences, concerns that may result from racial, cultural, sexual or gender identity issues. 

 

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Provides individual and/or group consultations for students, staff and faculty regarding psychological issues 
  • Provides psycho-education for students, staff and faculty in the format of webinars, workshops and/or trainings 
  • Provides preliminary psycho-diagnostics as necessary 
  • Orients students, staff and faculty to further health care providers if needed 
  • Cooperates with the Medical Service at CEU when necessary 
  • Assists with the communication processes of Psychological Counselling at CEU (social media, web page, etc.) 
  • Cooperates with other units at CEU on a need basis 
  • Reports directly to the head of Psychological Counselling 

 

Qualifications and skills

  • Degree in clinical psychology 
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a clinical and/or educational environment with adults 
  • Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment 
  • Excellent proficiency in English (preferably work experience where English used to be the language of communication) 
  • Flexibility in work assignment distribution 
  • Openness to work with international clients 
  • Readiness to cooperate with a multi-national staff 

 

 What we offer

  • International environment 
  • Fix-term, one-year-long contract with the option of renewal 
  • Annual gross salary of 30,000 EUR 
  • Part-time position, 20 hours/ week. Work schedule: 4 x 5 hours per week 
  • Afternoon schedule between 1-6pm
