The Student Center at the Dean of Students Office at Central European University (CEU) invites applications for a Reporting and Testing Assistant position based in Budapest.

 

Overview of the Student Center at the Dean of Students Office:

The Student Center provides a wide array of services related to the administrative aspects of studying at CEU. The office is responsible for overseeing all health insurance and legal residence requirements of students and ensures that they are fulfilled. Consequently, the continuous documentation, monitoring, updating, and archiving of student records (both online and offline) is an important element of its daily duties. The Center manages specific functions within CEU’s two information systems (UIS and SITS) related to student onboarding, health insurance, legal residence, and the leaving process.

 

The Reporting and Testing Assistant will fulfill the following duties:

  • Understanding and implementing the necessary administrative structure and tasks of the Student Center’s daily work.
  • Understanding and engaging in the overall structure and use of the University's student databases (SITS and UIS).
  • Checking and testing all the migrated data between the databases based on instructions from the Student Center team.
  • Taking part in the database development process.
  • Compiling and pulling of the necessary reports from the databases for the Student Center team.
  • Direct collaborative communication with the SITS project team and the Student Center team.
  • Liaising with department coordinators and colleagues from other units of CEU as needed.

 

Qualifications and skills

  • Completed higher education.
  • Higher-level computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Pro-active personality with very good problem solving and communication skills (verbal and written) in English.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Precision, attention to detail, service-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure and keep deadlines.
  • Experience in working in a multicultural environment.
  • Experience of having worked in a similar position with similar databases, especially in an academic environment is an advantage.
