The Academic Cooperation and Research Support Office (ACRO) at Central European University (CEU) wishes to appoint an outstanding person to fill the position of a part-time (20 hrs/week) Research Projects Assistant in Budapest.

The Academic Cooperation and Research Support Office (ACRO) is responsible for coordinating CEU efforts in international academic cooperation and providing administrative support to CEU research activities and projects. ACRO assists CEU faculty, staff and students to seek and secure partnerships and support for their academic mobility, cooperation and research. It proposes and implements policies ensuring that externally funded research and CEU academic partnerships are of the highest quality and in line with CEU's mission and values.

Main responsibilities

  • Supporting the financial management of research projects funded by the European Commission. The successful candidate will be provided the relevant training and practice. Daily tasks will include the maintenance of multiple databases, checking and filing documents and payment forms, liaising with administrative units of the university.
  • Assistance to the Vice-President for Academic Cooperation and Research Management in scheduling meetings and organizing events.
  • General office duties like ordering supplies.
  • Managing ACRO’s Facebook page.

Candidate’s profile

  • Holds a Bachelor's degree;
  • Has excellent (advanced level) written and spoken Hungarian and English language skills;
  • Has strong computer proficiency, especially in the use of MS Word and Excel;
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and assignments independently, while enjoying working in a team;
  • Has experience in studying or working in an international environment;
  • Committed to developing his/her professional skills
  • Affinity for numbers, precision, structured thinking, and pro-activity is essential;
  • A strong work ethic is a must.

Experience in a similar position may be an advantage but recent graduates are also welcome.

Compensation:
Commensurate with experience. However, CEU offers a competitive salary, as well as a dynamic and international academic environment. This position is advertised for one year with a possibility of renewal.
