The European Judicial Training Collective is a project that aims to promote judicial cooperation and foster engagement between EU member states in civil law matters. The project runs from October 2013 to October 2014. The first of three modules on family law took place in Dublin, and the third and final module on mediation will be hosted by the Irish Law Society.
CEU hosted the second module on March 8. With the participation of 15 Irish and 20 Hungarian judges, the training focused on insolvency including key issues in cross-border insolvency, jurisdiction, recognition, and enforcement of cross-border judgments, cross-border cooperation in civil matters, and personal insolvency, i.e. insolvency of the natural person.
The series is organized by the Law Society of Ireland in cooperation with CEU’s Department of Legal Studies, and is financed by the Civil Justice Programme of the European Union.
