Miklos Haraszti, visiting professor in the Department of Public Policy and United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Belarus, presented his first report to the UN General Assembly Oct. 28 in New York. He said that Belarus, the only country in Europe with no opposition in parliament, must guarantee a series of human rights in order to give effect to the right to elect and to be elected.
