First Annual Sustainability Festival to Link CEU and Local Environmental Activists

September 10, 2013

CEU will hold its first Sustainability Festival on Sept. 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the bicycle parking area in the Nador 15 courtyard. This free event aims to introduce incoming CEU students, faculty, and staff members to members of the Budapest community who have been working to build support for more environmentally conscious and equitable societies. The festival will feature a sampling area for local, organic food, and vegan food; recycling activities; a bicycle repair workshop; and an acoustic music performance. Participating organizations include WWF Magyarorszag, TerraCycle, Messzelato Egyesulet, Szatyor Egyesulet, Cyclonomia, Greenpeace, Vegan Club Budapest, BTK-ELTE Sustainable Students Group, GAU Green Club, and Godollo Szent Istvan University. For more information, contact Logan Strenchock, campus environmental and sustainability officer, at strenchockl@ceu.hu. The event is sponsored by the Campus Services Office and will be staffed by student volunteers and members of CEU's Sustainability Advisory Committee.
