The 2013 International Association of Labour History Institutions Conference, entitled “Opening up Social History Repositories: New Technologies and New Methods,” will be hosted September 26-28 by CEU and Open Society Archives. The conference aims to inspire discussions on the new challenges to social history research, curation, and preservation of archival sources, especially in light of recent changes in East and Central Europe and with the advent of the networked information society. Proposed papers need to address one of the three themes: Reconnecting Collection Policies and Research Interests, Reusing Social History Data, and Intellectual Property Rights and the Mandate of Social History. They must include an abstract (maximum 300 words), the theme, a biographical note (maximum 200 words), and full postal address and email address. Send proposals to Piotr Wcislik, ialhi2013@ceu.hu, by June 30. For more information, see http://www.osaarchivum.org/press-room/events/IALHI-conference.
