Call for Applications for Workshop on Human Rights Advocacy

The Human RightS Initiative (HRSI) announces the opening of the application period for a one-day intensive workshop on Human Rights Advocacy at CEU on Saturday, Oct. 11, 9am-5pm.The Human Rights advocacy workshop is an interactive one-day seminar aiming at offering participants knowledge on what advocacy is, and how to plan, implement and evaluate an advocacy campaign. The workshop will require an active contribution from all participants and will combine discussions and small group work. It will allow participants to get an overview of what advocacy means in practical terms and will introduce general advocacy project management methods and tools to reach the expected impact of an advocacy project.

At the end of the workshop, participants can expect:

  • To have an in-depth understanding of what advocacy is and what it is not;

  • To acquire a general knowledge on how an advocacy project is designed, planned, implemented and evaluated

Trainer:

Mr. Pierre Cazenave has been working as a Regional Child Rights Officer for the Terre des Hommes – Child Relief Regional office for Central and South Eastern Europe for the past 5 years, implementing regional advocacy projects in 20 countries on topics related to child protection, child rights and migration. Prior to his mandate with Terre des Hommes he lectured European Law and International and European Human Rights Law at the University of Paris I Panthéon – Sorbonne as well as in Romania at the University of Bucharest. He started his career as a humanitarian worker in the Middle East and South Asia.

Eligibility:

CEU Students, CEU alumni, junior staff from Budapest–based NGOs, students from other universities, etc.

Application Process:

Applicants should fill in the attached Application Form and return it to hrsi@ceu.hu before the deadline.

Selected applicants will be notified via e–mail few days after the deadline.

Deadline:

Applications should be sent to HRSI no later than Sunday, September 28th, midnight.

Please, remember that we have a very limited number of places available so make sure you send us your application on time.

Fee:

The workshop is free of charge for the members of CEU community and external participants.
