Call for Applications for HRSI Workshop on Social Entrepreneurship

CEU’s Human RightS Initiative (HRSI) invites applications for a one–day intensive workshop on Social Entrepreneurship to be held at CEU on Saturday, November 29, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Description:
Social enterprises are businesses aimed to solve an important social problem. The goal of the workshop is to share with participants the basic concept of social enterprise, to teach them how to produce a business idea.
As one of the most important aspects of social enterprise is the balance between business success and social impact, also the workshop will focus on both areas. The participants will learn about generating a business model suitable for solving a critical social issue. They will understand the way of assessing a business idea from both, financial and social return point of view, and will also touch on the topic of indicators to measure the success and impact of a social enterprise.
The workshop will be very interactive. Participants will generate and assess their own social enterprise business model.

Trainer:
Horvath Anna, NESsT, country director, Hungary.
Anna is the leader of NESsT’s operation in Hungary. She is responsible for managing the Hungarian portfolio of 13 social enterprises, for the pipeline building of the portfolio and for the operational and financial sustainability of the Hungarian office. She is also the leader of NESsT’s global Incubation Methodology Working Group.
Prior to NESsT Anna worked for Foundation for Small Enterprise Development (SEED) where she developed start-ups and microenterprises. Her primary mission was supporting the economic independence of women.
Before entering the civil society sector, Anna spent 13 years in the business world at GfK Market Research Company as area manager and later deputy director.
Anna has a degree from the Technical University of Budapest and from Corvinus University (Economics). She is also a certified trainer and speaks Hungarian, English and German.

Eligibility:
CEU Students, CEU alumni, junior staff from Budapest–based NGOs, students from other universities, etc.

Application Process:
Applicants should fill in the attached Application Form and return it to hrsi@ceu.hu before the deadline.

Selected applicants will be notified via e–mail few days after the deadline.

Deadline:
Applications should be sent to HRSI no later than midnight on Sunday, Nov. 16.

Due to a very limited number of places available, applications should be submitted on time.

Fee:
The workshop is free of charge for the members of CEU community and external participants.

All participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.
