Why CEU?

CEU is a crucible of academic activity, research, knowledge creation, learning, and teaching, providing graduate and professional academic chiefly in the social sciences, the humanities, law and business. Known for its deeply international community, faculty and students work closely together to produce new knowledge and ground-breaking research. Starting September 2020, we will add a number of undergraduate programs to our teaching offer.

All classes are taught in English.

CEU’s 20 research centres work on 81 ongoing externally funded projects, of which 14 are funded by the ERC, 27 are supported by other EU collaborative grants and 7 Marie Curie actions. With rich electronic and print collections, the CEU Library contains the largest English-language holdings in the social sciences and humanities in Central and Eastern Europe.

As we move forward to establishing a new campus in Vienna, Budapest will remain our spiritual home. Post-transition year (ie AY2019-20) we are committed to maintaining academic activities and resources in our award-winning campus in downtown Budapest.
