The CEU Student Services Office hosted an afternoon of fun and information for the informal kickoff to CEU's 23rd academic year on Friday, Sept. 6. This year, 539 new MA students, 82 new PhD students, and over 100 visiting and exchange students from 85 countries join the ranks of CEU's graduate student population.
CEU staff and alumni welcomed hundreds of students at the welcome event, where they could learn about student clubs, extracurricular organizations, and volunteer opportunities, as well as Budapest-based NGOs, theaters, and services. MPA student Luis Cano led students in a lively exercise routine, highlighting fitness options available to students. A number of CEU alumni were on hand to share coffee and tea and to answer questions from incoming students. CEU boasts an alumni network of over 11,000 people worldwide.
“As all of you have discovered by now, you are joining a community that is very diverse, both in the backgrounds of our students and of our faculty,” said CEU's Vice President of Student Services Peter Johnson. "I hope you will all enjoy the learning opportunities CEU provides, and I am equally excited that you will be able to take advantage of the great social activities and events that are available at CEU and in Budapest.”
