CEU offers confidential student psychological counselling services, providing professional help and support for your personal and academic concerns. This is not psychotherapy though. Our professional counselors provide 8 sessions of individual counselling per academic year. Counselling is about handling specific issues, emergency or crisis or stress management, resource mobilization but not about modification of the potentially malfunctioning parts of personality.
Issues students typically bring up include (but are not limited to): lack of motivation or direction, stress, relationship issues, concentration difficulties, low confidence or negative self-esteem, homesickness or loneliness, anxiety, eating or body image issues, grief or bereavement, bullying, panic attacks, perfectionism, obsessions/compulsions, depression or mood difficulties, self-harm, addiction or substance use, traumatic experiences, concerns that may result from racial, cultural, personal, sexual or gender identity issues, and current traumatic experiences.
If you are experiencing emotional or psychological distress please contact one of the student counsellors below via e-mail only. There is no walk-in service.
Our mental health toolkit, available here in pdf format, is a useful resource.
