CEU offers a variety of opportunities for those pursuing innovation and research, from incubating a startup, to dedicating time to research, to access to a unique archive. The CEU InnovationsLab, Institute for Advanced Study CEU, and the Vera and Donald Blinken Open Society Archives each play an integral role in University efforts to bring together scholars, entrepreneurs, researchers, and the students and faculty of CEU for open debate and the creation of knowledge and value.
The CEU InnovationsLab nurtures a culture of entrepreneurship in the region by linking academia and business, enabling students and alumni to grow startup businesses. CEU InnovationsLab was voted Hungary's best incubator at the Central European Startup Awards, and the only university incubator nominated for Best Incubator/Accelerator in Central Europe.
The Institute for Advanced Study CEU hosts a group of outstanding scholars from around the world, each year, inviting senior and junior fellows to pursue their diverse disciplinary interests in an environment conducive to focused scholarship and intellectual exchange.
The Vera and Donald Blinken Open Society Archives (OSA) is home to the largest archival collection related to the history of the Cold War and international human rights violations. A research institute in its own right, OSA also explores new ways of assessing, contextualizing, presenting, and making use of archival documents, and teaches archival research methods to students, researchers, and educators from around the world. It is also host to dozens of exhibitions, film screenings, and cultural events dedicated to history and human rights.
