Gyorgy Gergely, professor in the Department of Cognitive Science, was awarded the prestigious title of “egyetemi tanar” on Sept. 1, 2013, by Hungarian Minister of Human Resources Zoltan Balog. The title, which literally means “university professor,” indicates a high ranking within Hungarian higher education. To qualify for accreditation in Hungary, doctoral schools must have a certain number of such professors. For this reason, the promotion of a CEU faculty member to this rank is an important step in increasing CEU’s integration into the Hungarian higher education system.
