CEU earned the best rankings in its history in the latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) subject ranking, published April 29. CEU's programs related to politics and international studies jumped to 29th in the world, and 7th in Europe.
As part of CEU's weeklong celebration of Earth Day 2015, students and administrators created a community garden at the CEU Residence Center. At the April 23 event, members of the CEU community planted herbs, edible plants and flowers in the green space behind the dorm, located in Budapest's 10th district. Coriander, chive, rosemary, basil, strawberry, corn salad, rocket, thyme, lemon balm, chili peppers, seeds of sunflower, dill, roses, sunflowers, and hibiscus were available for students to plant.
Hungarian monthly Kreativ carried a feature interview with CEU Alumnus Bosko Spasojevic (HIST '95). Spasojevic, the CEO of one of the most successful Hungarian PR and media companies VivaKi, discusses how he fled to Budapest in protest being drafted into the war in Yugoslavia in 1994, his studies at CEU, his career, and the challenges of leading a flagship media company.

European Research Council - Advanced Grant
The scheme targets researchers who have already established themselves as independent research leaders.
EURIAS is the Consortium of European Institutes for Advanced Study that awards residential research fellowships to scholars outside their own country co-funded by the European Commission. CEU IAS has been a member for several years now and we would welcome 1-2 researchers for the 2016/17 Academic year. This is a great opportunity and we would be grateful if you could circulate the information among your contacts.
Secure Societies is about undertaking the research and innovation activities needed to protect our citizens, society and economy as well as our infrastructures and services, our prosperity, political stability and wellbeing. Under the research actions more than 220 million EUR will be awarded in 2015. New Calls for Proposals can be found on the ACRO website
CEU aims to give a number of selected undergraduate students the opportunity to spend a few days in Budapest, interact with CEU faculty and graduate students through participation in the conference sessions and other related events (dinners, tours, etc.), and get acquainted with CEU facilities (dormitory, library, etc.).
