CEU welcomed a record number of visitors at its annual Open House: 213 prospective students from as many as 20 countries visited our campus on November 20. Organized by the Student Recruitment Office, the all-day event featured presentations and open classes as well as several new activities, such as a CV Clinic, hosted by the Center for Academic Writing, a CEU quiz and an Instagram competition for CEU prizes. For the first time, the event was livestreamed and over 100 people joined us online.
The Student Recruitment Office presented the final application figures for 2015 to CEU’s Board of Trustees on October 17-18.
The figures show a substantial increase in applications for both master’s and doctoral programs across the University. Compared to 2014, both the number of submitted applications and individual applicants rose by nearly 40 percent.
Edit Kalman has been appointed Head of Recruitment, effective August 1, 2015. Edit has been working at CEU since 2008 and served as Acting Head of the Student Recruitment Office during the previous academic year.
CEU’s Annual Report 2014 won a Platinum Award, the top honors, in the Hermes Creative Awards, an international competition for professionals involved in the concept, design, writing and publication of traditional and emerging media. CEU’s suite of recruitment videos also won a Gold Award in the Public Relations Video category.
Bashir Ahmad witnessed the suffering of his people caught in a war between terrorists, the U.S. and Pakistan. His efforts to represent youth put him in danger.
At the end of the first application cycle, the Student Recruitment Office reports a significant rise in the number of applications to CEU’s master’s and doctoral programs. The number of applications and the number of applicants have risen by nearly 30% compared to the final figures from last year.
