CEU's Open Society Archives (OSA) was renamed the Vera and Donald Blinken Open Society Archives at a Nov. 3 dedication event in honor of the couple, who have provided a major bequest to sustain the institution. Their gift will create a permanent endowed fund, which will allow the Archives to expand its critical work in preserving one of the world's most valuable archival collections related to the Cold War, human rights movements and grave international human rights violations.

CEU’s IT Department has started phase two of the Microsoft transition project, testing and refining the system for CEU community-wide use. This phase started with a series of kick-off meetings for those who have volunteered to be early adopters. At these meetings, colleagues from the IT Department introduce the new system demonstrating its capabilities and how it can support a more effective workflow.
Co-directors of CEU’s Center for Policy Studies Viola Zentai and Andrew Cartwright have joined the international research network Overcoming Inequalities in Schools and Learning Communities: Innovative Education for a New Century (SALEACOM). SALECOM aims to address educational and social exclusion in schools and learning communities through a number of academic exchanges. The project activities will be implemented in 36 months with a total € 391,500 funding from the European Commission's H2020 Programme.

Papers are welcome to QUESTI 2015, a multidisciplinary conference based on virtual presence. The conference is aimed especially, but not exclusively, at students and young researchers. The goal is to motivate starting researchers to get their first feedbacks from senior researchers and receive valuable experiences.
