Building on the community events this spring, including honoring CEU’s long-serving faculty and staff in March and gathering last weekend for the annual CEU Picnic, next month we will hold a series of events to recognize CEU's silver anniversary. Together, we will celebrate and honor our university and the community that makes CEU the outstanding institution it is today.
CEU’s new Digital Humanities Initiative (DHI) held its kick-off event on May 19. Subtitled Digital Cooperations and Community, this initiative is an 18-month preparatory project funded by the Humanities Initiative at CEU.
Published as part of CEU Press’ Natalie Zemon Davis Annual Lecture Series, Hybrid Renaissance: Culture, Language, Architecture, by Peter Burke, Professor Emeritus of Cultural History at the University of Cambridge and Life Fellow at Emmanuel College, introduces the idea that the Renaissance in Italy, elsewhere in Europe, and in the world beyond Europe is an example of cultural hybridization.
