Simon Rippon, who holds a joint appointment in the Department of Philosophy and the School of Public Policy has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor, effective December 1, 2016, based on the recommendation of the Provost supported by the Reappointment and Promotion Committee.

The CEU community had a refreshing taste of south Asian performing arts when Saumya Shukla, a well-known performer of the Indian classical dance form, Kathak (literally meaning “Story”), performed and also narrated the history, traditions and intricacies of this enchanting form on December 8 in the new CEU auditorium.

CEU students visited a local animal shelter in Budapest December 2, volunteering their time to support animal welfare. They were introduced to the animals and given a brief history of the shelter and how it helps the animals. They had the chance to spend some quality time with the dogs, showing them some much-needed love and taking them for a long walk in the fresh air. Given the limited supply of food for the animals, the students were happy to bring some supplies.

Year 2015 was marked with significant changes in the life of OSA as the institution was renamed following the pledge of generous donation by Vera and Donald Blinken.
