New Calls for Applications are available in the Erasmus+ Programme. The Erasmus+ Programme Guide is the main source of information for these opportunities but here is a short overview of those which may be of interest for CEU. For each opportunity you can find the deadline for application, a general description, a more detailed description of the action type, and the official EU page with the Call for Application and with the relevant documents.

The CEU Global Teaching Fellowship Program (GTFP) started in January 2015 as a small scale experiment to find short-term teaching positions for CEU advanced PhD candidates and recent PhD graduates. Fast forward to fall 2016 and GTFP is now a full-fledged program running two calls for applications per year for over 20 teaching positions at universities around the world.

Within the European Commission’s Erasmus+ Program Key Action 1 – Mobility of Individuals, CEU academic and administrative employees may seek Erasmus+ funding for participation in a training mobility abroad. The staff training must be carried out at a Higher Education Institution (HEI) that is a holder of an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education or any public or private organisation active in the labour market or in the fields of education, training and youth.

CEU, together with other Hungarian universities, was represented in the Study in Hungary booth at the European Association for International Education (EAIE) Annual Conference in Liverpool September 13-16. Academic Cooperations Officer Agnes Leyrer, Global Partnerships Officer Monica Jitareanu and Erasmus Mobility Coordinator Anna Szathmari, and Vice President for Enrollment Management & Alumni Relations Serge Sych gave presentations on student experience, alumni relations and internalization best practices.

Erasmus+, the EU's programme for education, training, youth and sport for 2014-2020, has opened up its doors for countries around the world for the first time. Erasmus-type credit mobility programs are now available in the framework of inter-institutional agreements, for all three groups: students, academic and administrative staff.

The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central European University (CEU) that establishes the basis for future collaboration in a series of areas of common interest.

Maria Temmes, PhD candidate in the Department of Gender Studies, and Elena Popa, who successfully defended her doctoral dissertation in philosophy at CEU in January 2016, gained valuable experience at American University of Central Asia in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, through CEU’s Global Teaching Fellowship Program.
