Professor Martin Kahanec of the School of Public Policy at CEU has been appointed Member of the Panel of Experts for the European Court of Auditors' EU Labour Mobility Audit. The Audit will concern the freedom of movement for workers in the EU, and the role of the European Commission as a guardian of Article 45 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU and the use of European Programme for Employment and Social Innovation and the European Social Fund in facilitating labor mobility in the EU.
CEU received the Digitalization Award 2016 from Siemens Zrt. in recognition of its leadership and accomplishments in using digital technologies to optimize activities across the institution. The prize was presented at the Siemens Gala 2016 at the Varkert Bazar in Budapest on November 24, and was accepted by IT Director Szilard Bedecs. Library Director Diane Geraci was also honored.
CEU has awarded funding to five projects in the third round of the University-wide Intellectual Themes Initiative (ITI). This institutional endeavor at CEU, launched in fall 2015, aims to promote exploring and developing new activities that encourage cross-disciplinary teaching and research, prompt new forms of civic engagement, enhance the academic profile of CEU and contribute to shaping its future institutional direction.
