Key seminar space in CEU's new Nador 15 building is now known as the Nimetz Classroom, honoring CEU Trustee Matthew Nimetz's generous support of the University as a center of debate and discussion. Sandeep Pai, a student in the MSc in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management (MESPOM) program, received the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Award for his investigative journalism work uncovering high-level corruption in India. Sandeep used Right to Information requests to find out how Indian MPs used their influence to persuade public sector undertakings (PSUs) to fund publications, organizations and events associated with the politicians.

Zsuzsanna Vidra, research fellow at CEU’s Center for Policy Studies, participates in a research project focusing on Countering Islamophobia through the Development of Best Practice in the use of Counter-Narratives in EU Member States. The project, led by the University of Leeds, received € 584,739.31 funding for the six partner institutions from European Commission’s Directorate General Justice and Consumers, and will run for 24 months starting in January 2017.
