Savannah Carr-Wilson and Sandeep, MESPOM master’s students in the Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy, are currently writing a book, entitled the Fossil Fuel Curse. They plan to conduct research in India and Canada this summer and turn their findings into a unique non-fiction book that will bring global attention to the impact fossil fuel extraction has on communities in India and Canada, and what will happen to these communities when the world makes a transition to renewable energy.

CEU alumna Yuliya Voytenko (ENVSCI PhD ‘07) has been granted SEK 3 million from FORMAS (the Swedish Research Council) for a 3-year research project, entitled Sharing and the City (2016-2018). Voytenko is currently a researcher at the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE), a MESPOM Consortium partner.
