The Hungarian Red Cross will hold its annual blood drive at CEU on Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the October Hall (Oktober 6. street 7, ground floor, across from the main entrance). To register, participants will need to produce one form of ID from each of the following three categories: 1) official ID/passport; 2) residence card/residence permit and official proof of address in Hungary; 3) TAJ card/EU health insurance card (blue) or national social security card.

On January 22, a group of CEU students participated in a community cooking event, volunteering their time to help local people in need.
Organized by the Student Leadership and Service Office (SLSO), the cooking began at 3 p.m. at the Oltalom Charity Association center and students prepared and served 150 hot meals.
The volunteers were also given a brief history of the shelter and learned about what it does to help homeless people.

The policy modifications approved by the CEU Senate at its November 25, 2016 meeting have entered into force. The Senate adopted a substantially revised and updated Personal Data Protection Policy, and also approved modifications to the Student Travel and Research Grant Policy and the Non-Degree Student Policy.

What was formerly called Monument Building 203 has been named the TIGY room and what was formerly called Monument Building 201 has been named the Hanak room.
The two rooms that originally carried these names were discontinued last spring due to ongoing campus reconstruction. Both rooms are named after individuals who were respected and well-known members of the CEU community, who passed away while still serving the University.

The Computer and Statistics Center at CEU offers free places for their MS PowerPoint for Good Presentations 3-day computer course, starting this week.The course focuses on creating and managing efficient presentations, timing details, creating organizational charts as well as dealing with graphic and dynamic elements. The course is free of charge. Human RightS Initiative is pleased to announce that the annual production of The Vagina Monologues (TVM), as part of the global V-day campaign (until the violence stops), will once again be organized at Central European University.

The new E-books Guide provides an overview of the e-book collections available at CEU and explains how to locate a specific e-book title – either available in a collection or individually purchased – using search tools.

Building User Guide: As CEU’s new campus’s BREEAM certification attests, the new buildings were designed with sustainability in mind, and are packed with solutions to reduce energy waste. Find out more about all the technology and smart design that went into the new campus in the new Building User Guide which was created by Campus Environmental and Sustainability Officer Logan Strenchock.
