As it prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary, CEU has launched the University-wide Intellectual Themes Initiative. This is a major new institutional endeavor at CEU, meant to promote exploring and developing new activities that encourage cross-disciplinary teaching and research, prompt new forms of civic engagement, enhance the academic profile of CEU and contribute to shaping its future institutional direction. The first call for proposals, together with a full description of the initiative, was circulated to all members of the CEU community in November 2015.

CEU has announced the call for applications for its fifth annual European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities. The award, launched in 2011, is the first and only such pan-European honor and is accompanied by the €5,000 Diener prize.
Pro-Rector’s Office Announces CEU Humanities Initiative Grant Winners and Calls for New Applications

As part of CEU's commitment to both the humanities and interdisciplinary teaching and research, the University launched a Humanities Initiative in spring 2014. The Initiative provides incentives for new cross-departmental and interdisciplinary research and teaching activities in the humanities, and to infuse CEU social science programs with perspectives, approaches and accomplishments taken from the humanities.

The CEU Distinguished Teaching Award has been created through a decision of the CEU Senate at the initiative of the Provost. The aim of this new initiative is to recognize CEU faculty members for promoting high standards of teaching, linked with the mission and institutional ambitions of CEU.
The Award will be presented at the Graduation Ceremony in June 2015.
The deadline for submitting nominations for the CEU Distinguished Teaching Award is Friday, April 3, 2015.

The Provost’s Office invites nominations for the CEU Distinguished Teaching Award, an annual award honoring Distinguished CEU Teachers.
CEU students, alumni and faculty members are invited to nominate candidates for the award.
Eligibility and Criteria for Selection
Full-time and part-time faculty members who have completed at least six semesters of teaching at CEU (irrespective of the exact load) and are under a valid teaching contract with the university during the respective academic year are eligible for the award.
