I’ve been here in Budapest for exactly 100 days now. This means that I have made it 100 days in Europe without any major disasters - I cannot believe it! This experience has been incredible, and I only have 18 days left before Christmas break, when I leave for home and see my family once again. Three crazy, ridiculous, insane weeks, what with preparation for finals and my list of one hundred and one things that I want to do between now and then. I hope I will survive them!

During the last weekend of September, I, along with many other students, boarded coaches that would take us across the hilly landscape of Transdanubia to CEU’s brand new campus in Vienna’s tenth district. The journey marked a milestone in the University’s history and represented a fresh beginning following a turbulent period of uncertainty.

Four CEU students were among the volunteers who helped build a community house in the rural Hungarian village of Hernádszentandrás. The community house is being developed by the InDaHouse Foundation, which provides sustainable assistance for underprivileged families in four villages in northern Hungary.

Nowadays, it is very easy to move around the world and study at different universities. It is not only a great way to spend time but it is also important as there are many differences between educational systems. Only through experience in studying abroad can you get comprehensive and balanced knowledge and skills. In my opinion, it is especially crucial to talk about social science, which can be influenced by national propaganda and biases.
