The Student Life Office, together with CEU’s counseling professionals, the Alumni Relations and Career Services Office, CEU Library, the Center for Arts and Culture, and CEU Sports Center hosted the third DeStress Week for the CEU community. DeStress Week, held November 10-14, provided students with anxiety and stress reduction skills and tools for the exam period.

There's nary a person in the world who hasn't heard of ISIS but, before this past summer, not many had heard of a religious minority that was the victimized by ISIS: the Yazidis. The world watched in horror as Yazidis, forced to flee from their homes, were stranded for weeks on a mountaintop in Iraq without access to food or water. To examine this crisis and the overall threat of ISIS, CEU hosted a roundtable “ISIS and Religious Minorities in the Middle East” on Sept. 24.

As in previous years, CEU participated in the annual nationwide project, Cultural Heritage Days, Hungary (Kulturális Örökség Napjai), part of European Heritage Days, on Sept. 20 and 21. CEU’s participation was organized by the Center for Arts and Culture, the Cultural Heritage Studies Program, and the External Relations Office.

During the two-day event, several hundred buildings, which are normally closed to the public, will open their gates all over the country and across the borders. The event at CEU will evoke popular cafe songs from the beginning of the 20th century.

The Center for Arts and Culture (CAC) at CEU is closing Academic Year 2013-2014 with a concert of renowned percussion group Amadinda. Their 30th anniversary show was Amadinda’s third concert at the university.This year, CAC in total organized and/or hosted 41 events, including programs such as Budapest100 (CEU participated with its Nador 11 building celebrating its 100th anniversary).
