It’s vital for local urban sustainability initiatives to build connections with local municipalities and with each other concluded the Accelerating and Rescaling Transitions to Sustainability (ARTS) project’s Budapest team, which was led by CEU’s Department of Environmental Sciences. The EU Commission-funded project started in 2014, and its regional Budapest phase ended with a meeting on October 28 at CEU.

CEU’s Diana Urge-Vorsatz, professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy and director of the Center for Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Policy, was member of a 5-member delegation of UNEP’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) that met Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Hanoi on October 23. As its vice chair, Urge-Vorsatz represented Working Group III of IPCC on the meeting.
