Hungarian political weekly Magyar Narancs interview with Andrea Peto, associate professor in the Department of Gender Studies: The so far prevailing progressive thinking which derives women’s rights from general human equality is gradually fading from behind the political struggle for the equality of women. However, Christian fundamentalist views are getting stronger, completely rejecting equality between the sexes. Peto believes that the key to the Hungarian situation lies in women’s conservative social movements.
