The Department of Gender Studies seeks submissions for the international peer-reviewed annual of women’s and gender history of Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe (CESEE), Aspasia. Historians of women and gender in the region of Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe are invited to reflect on the regional and global impact of the Russian Revolution on its 100th anniversary of what has come to be called the Russian Revolution.

Andrea Peto, associate professor in the Department of Gender Studies was awarded the prestigious title of “egyetemi tanar.” The appointment, made by Janos Ader, the President of Hungary, is effective Febr. 10, 2015. The title, which literally means “university professor,” indicates a high ranking within Hungarian higher education. To qualify for accreditation in Hungary, doctoral schools must have a certain number of such professors.

CEU Associate Professor of Gender Studies Andrea Peto, along with her colleague Helga Thorson (University of Victoria in Canada), recently edited "The Future of Holocaust Memorialization: Confronting Racism, Antisemitism, and Homophobia through Memory Work," published by the Tom Lantos Institute. The book follows last year's CEU conference on the same topic, part of CEU's commemoration of the 70-year anniversary of the Holocaust.
