Hungarian daily 24 Ora reports: The Hungarian Competition Authority (Gazdasagi Versenyhivatal – GVH) has quantified their economic and social usefulness: according to their conservative estimations, they have managed to save 58 billion forints for consumers. “Competition is a fundamental element for prosperity, since the majority of society, the consumer reaps its benefits” – said Laszlo Csaba, professor in the Department of International Relations and European Studies, who also mentioned the reduction in the prices of air tickets, cell phone services and insurance policies as examples.

According to Tej Pratap Singh, a visiting fellow at CEU, the reason for this overwhelming success was the complete downfall of the Congress Party having once achieved India’s independence and its leader, the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty.
