Hungarian weekly HVG interviewed Marion Smith (IRES'09), executive director of the Victims of Communism (VOC) Memorial Foundation, a U.S.-based non-profit educational organization. The interview explores the similarities between VOC and the Hungarian House of Terror Museum, the Hungarian government’s support towards the establishment of the foundation, and Smith’s views regarding current Hungarian politics.

CEU alumna Bermet Tursunkulova (IRES ’99) has been appointed Deputy Minister of Education and Science for the Kyrgyz Republic.
Appointed on October 27, 2014 by order of Prime Minister Joomart Otorbaev, Bermet will now oversee issues related to higher education in Kyrgyzstan.
