Darian Pavli, an alumnus of CEU's LLM program, was elected as judge to the European Court of Human Rights in respect of Albania by the Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) of the Council of Europe on October 2.

By the decision of the Selection Committee, Professor Andras Sajo and Professor Renata Uitz, from the Department of Legal Studies have been selected as the recipients of the 2018 CEU Award for Outstanding Research. The award recognizes outstanding research by CEU faculty that has had a significant international impact.

Judit Sandor, professor in the Departments of Political Science, Legal and Gender Studies and director of the Center for Ethics and Law in Biomedicine (CELAB) at CEU, was elected a Governor of the World Association of Medical Law (WAML) at the 24th WAML Annual Congress held September 2-6 in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Ten students of the Department of Legal Studies’ Human Rights and Comparative Constitutional Law programs participated in the Vienna Human Rights Model United Nations (VHRM MUN) on April 11. MUN is a simulated session of the UN Human Rights Council, organized by the University of Vienna and the Academic Council on the United Nations System. MUN took place at the Vienna International Centre, the campus and building complex hosting the United Nations Office at Vienna.
