The number of visitors at CEU during the European Heritage Days held on September 15 and 16 more than doubled compared to last year, with our youngest and most active audience so far.
CEU joined the Cultural Heritage Days for the sixth time in 2018 to showcase its built heritage to the broader community as well as the CEU community. CEU originally advertised eight guided tours in English and in Hungarian, three concerts, an exhibition, and an urban game, but due to the high turnout twice as many guided tours had to be started.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and CEU colleague Marianne Saghy, founding faculty member of the Department of Medieval Studies, on September 21. Marianne taught and wrote in her chosen field of late antique and medieval cult of saints and religious culture, with a passion that easily drew the interest of her students and colleagues. She will be sorely missed.

Photographs of decorated vehicles by Konstantin Novakovic, alumnus of the Cultural Heritage Studies Program at CEU, are now on display in the Atrium of CEU’s Nador 13 building. For his MA thesis, “Art on Wheels: Vehicular Art of Indian Subcontinent as a Form of Intangible Cultural Heritage” Novakovic traveled to the region and now exhibits the photos he took during his fieldwork, complemented by summaries of Novakovic’s original research.
