CEU alumnus Rob Swainston (POLS 2000) is currently an artist in residence at Bard College. Born and raised in rural Pennsylvania, he studied art and political science at Hampshire College, and subsequently lived and worked in Central Europe, pursuing postgraduate studies in political science at CEU. His solo exhibition, entitled “Carry On” is on display in the Riverside Galleries at Garrison Art Center (New York, U.S.) through Feb. 15. This exhibition marks the culmination of a year of printmaking at Garrison Art Center.

CEU mourns the sudden and tragic death of alumnus William Klinger, aged 42, who passed away on January 31.
Klinger graduated from the University of Trieste in 1997 with a BA in history and completed his MA in Political Science at CEU in 2000/2001. He completed his doctoral degree at the European University Institute in Florence, becoming an expert on Yugoslavia's former leader, Josip Broz Tito. Klinger was working at the History Department of the Centro di Ricerche Storiche di Rovigno (Center for Historical Research of Rovinj).
