Hungarian economic weekly’s special business issue, HVG Business reports: 4.4 million job opportunities will be created by Big Data all over the world by the end of next year. In Hungary, a relevant program will be offered by Central European University starting from 2015. Quite unique in Europe, the Master’s in Business Analytics program will primarily welcome economists and sociologists. CEU Business School celebrated its 25th anniversary by presenting a vision for management education with the publication of "Free Market in Its Twenties: Modern Business Decision Making in Central and Eastern Europe," a peer-reviewed, faculty-authored book with a foreword by George Soros, founder of CEU. Soros hosted a book launch in Budapest June 21 with CEU Business School Dean Mel Horwitch and special guest Harvard Business School Dean Nitin Nohria.

CEU Business School alumnus Ashwin Kutty (IMM, ’04) was recognized by the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance for leadership of his multimedia design firm, WeUsThem. On May 21 he was presented the Alliance’s Peter Brojde Award for Canada’s Next Generation Executive Leadership, at a special gala in Ottawa.

As part of a program sponsored by the Spanish Embassy and the Cervantes Institute in Budapest, Alejandro de Villota gave a lecture entitled “Art Nature Vs Nurture: A Different Perspective on Investing in Art” at CEU Business School recently. De Villota spoke of his unique perspective as the youngest member of a family of renowned painters dating back centuries, admitting that he himself is not a painter. Instead, filled with a passion for the arts, he decided to embark on a mission promoting the special meaning and value of art.
