Flow theory and management education will be transformed by the learning and research potential of the online management simulation game FLIGBY, said Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, author of the seminal book "Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience," speaking at CEU Nov. 9 at an event hosted by CEU Business School. Analysis of the vast amounts of data collected in the cloud by tens of thousands of online players will provide important insight into decision-making and management behavior, he said.

The Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy (ICS) at Hitotsubashi University and CEU Business School entered into a broad-based exchange and academic partnership. ICS Dean and Professor Kazuo Ichijo and CEU Business School Dean Mel Horwitch signed an agreement to promote academic cooperation and student exchangeat the Hitotsubashi ICS campus in Tokyo on October 21.

Georgiu Achilles, program director of the MS in Business Analytics program at CEU’s Business School talked to ITB (itbusiness.hu) about what start-ups and larger companies have in common and what they could learn from each other. Large, sluggish ships and small, agile boats both fish on the ever-changing waters of business life. There is a lot they could learn from each other, yet they often fail to take account even of their own strengths and weaknesses, which is a shame, because they could do much better together, explains Achilles.

The Demjan Group, owned by one of Hungary’s most prominent businessman Sandor Demjan, has donated € 1 million to establish a migration fund to support improving conditions for refugee children currently in Hungary or on the borders of the country. The fund will be used to buy food, clothing, finance domestic travel, healthcare and to produce information materials and assist civilians and authorities who are working to resolve the situation. CEU Business School alumna Borbala Czako (IMC'90) has been appointed to chair the fund.

CEU Business School and the Department of Economics at CEU have successfully launched their joint Business Analytics master’s program. Dean Mel Horwitch of the Business School, together with Program Directors Miklos Koren and Achilles Georgiu, launched the new program on September 11. On their first day in the Business Analytics program, the new student team learned about CEU and the program-founding school and department, met colleagues and faculty, and discussed the road ahead.
