A group of students participating in CEU and Bard College’s joint master’s-level Advanced Certificate in Inequality Analysis program have visited CEU’s campus. The week-long series of classes and lectures provided participants with a number of unique academic opportunities delivered as part of the exchange between the universities.

Of course, this university is an extremely diverse community, but recently to me the similarities among CEU people have become more striking than the differences. We differ in life experience, age, gender, ethnicity and so many other things. But we also share a few basic values and attitudes that seem to matter more.

Professor Julia Buxton and CEU Gender Studies graduate Giavana Margo hosted the short course “Understanding the Gendered Impacts of Drug Policy” at the Global Policy Academy at CEU's School of Public Policy in November 2018. 23 participants from eighteen different countries were invited to analyze and reflect on best practices, lessons learned and methods for improved gender inclusivity within global drug policy reform and advocacy.

Kata Orosz, assistant professor of Higher Education Policy in the School of Public Policy, and Daniela Craciun, doctoral student in the School of Public Policy at CEU, recently published an analytical report, entitled the Benefits and Costs of Transnational Collaborative Partnerships in Higher Education through the European Expert Network on Economics of Education.

CEU alumnus Maad Sharaf (SPP ’18) uploaded a video on his Facebook page on September 30, 2018. In the video, he asked people in a busy pedestrian area in central Budapest what they knew about Yemen. The #Ask_me_about_Yemen video project aims to raise public awareness of Yemen in general, and the humanitarian crisis caused by the war broke out in 2015, in particular. In a week, the video has generated over 13,000 views.
