Comprehensive examinations at the Doctoral School of Political Science, Public Policy and International Relations (DSPS) are expected to become more research-focused with the latest updates introduced in the School’s regulations. The DSPS Doctoral Committee approved the changes in early March, reforming the old comprehensive examination system. The updated exam structure will be first used in June 2015.

The Doctoral School of Political Science, Public Policy and International Relations (DSPS) has launched its updated website. The site now has several new features, including a searchable course database connected to CEU’s course hub, a dynamic list of the profiles of faculty members associated with the School, and a new set of sub-pages for the tracks and specializations of the doctoral program.

The Doctoral School for Political Science, Public Policy and International Relations invites all doctoral candidates to submit a paper proposal for the upcoming CEU Annual Doctoral Conference (April 20-21, 2015). The submissions will be subjected to an evaluation by the organizing committee in partnership with professors affiliated with the Doctoral School. Papers will be selected for participation in the Annual Doctoral Conference on the basis of the quality of the proposals. Deadline for submission: January 31, 2015.

Using identical twins in medical studies has been a common practice for decades as sharing the exact same DNA helps researchers isolate environmental effects, as opposed to genetic determinants. It is newer to the field of political science and CEU Assistant Professor of Political Science Levente Littvay is helping pave the way for twin studies – in the medical and social science realms – in Hungary, where they are rare.
