Innovation is flourishing in the region, said Wojciech Przybylski, editor-in-chief of Visegrad Insight and Res Publica Nowa, in a March 20 discussion organized by CEU’s Center for EU Enlargement Studies (CENS). The two magazines published “New Europe 100”, a list that selected Central and Eastern Europe’s most influential innovators.

On February 23, the JOSz (Jogaszhallgatok Onkepzo Szervezete, an organization of law students) at the Law Faculty of the Eotvos Lorand University organized an open debate between Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto and Peter Balazs, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and director of the CEU Center for EU Enlargement Studies (CENS). The debate, chaired by JOSz representative David Surjanyi, covered the most pressing topics of Hungarian foreign policy ranging from relations with Russia, the U.S.

Fourteen CEU students and faculty had the opportunity to join representatives of five other Hungarian universities and attend an informal meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel during her visit to Budapest on Feb. 5. The event was hosted by Andrassy University Budapest.
